Michael Visits Milwaukee

Dojo leader Michael Gratzke had the chance to visit the kendo dojo in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, near Milwaukee.

Our third beginners' course started on 26th September 2005 with 24 participants.

IKET - International Kendo Enbu Taikai

StAKC club members Lewis Watts, Chris Burton and Michael Gratzke participated in the second IKET event which was held in Edinburgh.

Club members joined Edinburgh and Aberdeen Kendo Clubs for two days of practice, culture and fun.

Kyusha Grading and Seminar

StAKC organised the first East Scotland kyusha seminar and grading on 23rd April, led by Paul Budden sensei (Rokudan Renshi) and Kazuyo Matsuda sensei from Kodokan dojo. 31 kendoka from 4 clubs graded successfully.

National Coach Seminar

StAKC took the lead in organising this seminar on 26th March as part of Sotaro Honda sensei's visit to the kendo clubs of east Scotland.

Kangeiko

Monday 3rd January 2005 saw the first ever St Andrews Kangeiko (winter practice) on the East Sands.
