2005: News and EventsNews and most recent events are listed first: Michael Visits MilwaukeeDojo leader Michael Gratzke had the chance to visit the kendo dojo in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, near Milwaukee.
Third Beginners' CourseOur third beginners' course started on 26th September 2005 with 24 participants. IKET - International Kendo Enbu TaikaiStAKC club members Lewis Watts, Chris Burton and Michael Gratzke participated in the second IKET event which was held in Edinburgh. Aberdeen TripClub members joined Edinburgh and Aberdeen Kendo Clubs for two days of practice, culture and fun. Kyusha Grading and SeminarStAKC organised the first East Scotland kyusha seminar and grading on 23rd April, led by Paul Budden sensei (Rokudan Renshi) and Kazuyo Matsuda sensei from Kodokan dojo. 31 kendoka from 4 clubs graded successfully. National Coach SeminarStAKC took the lead in organising this seminar on 26th March as part of Sotaro Honda sensei's visit to the kendo clubs of east Scotland. New Beginners' CourseThe latest beginners' course started on 14th March 2005 with 16 enthusiastic participants. Glasgow Seminar and GradingVery busy seminar on 12th March followed by national grading on the 13th.
